CHARLESTON, S.C. – The LIU wrestling team dropped two brutally close matches on the road Sunday. Innn the first match of the day, LIU fell to Davidson by the smallest of margins, 21-20, and in the afternoon match, fell to the host Citadel, 28-17.
 
SHARK BITES

• Senior Ryan Ferro was 2-0 on the afternoon, pinning Cole Burke from the Citadel at 6:39, and beating Steven Newell of Davidson, 5-1.
• Sophomore Devin Matthews posted two double-digit victories, notching a technical fall in his 18-3 win over Joseph Clement of the Citadel, and beating Nick Cambria of Davidson with an 11-0 major decision.
• Graduate student Nunzio Crowley continued his hot streak in dual meets, winning his fifth and sixth matches, with a 15-13 decision over Davison and a 3-2 decision against the Citadel.
• Freshman Robbie Sagaris won his second-straight dual meet match with an 8-4 victory over the Citadel.
• James Langan had a major decision win at 184 against the Wildcats, beating Gavin Henry, 15-5.
• The Sharks will be back in action next Saturday, February 5th at 4PM when they travel to the City of Brotherly Love to face Drexel University.
