Box Score LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU women's tennis team won their first dual match of the 2022 spring season on the road Saturday night, sweeping Siena, 7-0.

The Sharks went up early, taking the doubles point with wins in the Nos. 2 and 3 spot to lead the match, 1-0. Valentina Dancenco and Sofiya Kuzina beat their opponents at No. 2, 6-3. After a loss in the No. 1 spot, the Sharks rallied to take the clinching win at No. 3, where Bianca Compuesto and Jasmine Maduel won, 7-5. LIU then went on to win all six singles matches and take the team win.

Dancenco was the first to win in the No. 4 spot, where she had a straight set victory, 6-2, 6-3. Elinor Storkaas was next, with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 5 singles spo. Compuesto clinched the match win in the No. 3 singles spot, where she had a 6-2, 6-0 win. Kuzina won at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4, while Victoria Erechtchenko took the win at No. 1, 6-3, 7-6. And Kate Jorjoliani completed the sweep, winning at No. 6 singles in a tiebreaker, 5-7, 6-3, 10-6.

Up next, the Sharks welcome Florida International University for their first home match of the spring season,  Friday, February 4^th at 12 p.m.
