BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU women's rugby team took on Mount St. Mary's in its home opener Saturday afternoon, scoring a season-high 15 points. Despite the strong offensive effort, the Sharks fell to the Mountaineers, 45-15.
Mount went up 17-0 before the Sharks got on the board. The first try for LIU was scored by
Alexis Dallas with just over 15 minutes left in the first half. LIU also had a try by
Ava Zopf in the second half, and a try by
Morgan Duger with 1:30 left to cut the gap to 45-15.
