CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The LIU Rugby team took on Ivy League foe Harvard on the road Saturday, falling to the Crimson, 109-5. Sophomore
Ava Zopf scored the only try for LIU.
"Despite the deficit, the Sharks played a great game today," head coach
Jinnie Pratt said. "We're starting to show glimmers of structure and vast improvements when compared to the last match. There were lots of promising moments, but we were just unable to capitalize on much against a well-stacked and developed Harvard squad."
Gina Pollice was named Player of the Match by Harvard, while Meg Burriece was awarded the Shark Swagu by LIU Coaching staff for her efforts in the match.
Up next, the Sharks open up at home, hosting Mount St. Mary's, Saturday, September 25 at 12 p.m.
