BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked LIU women's water polo team extended their win streak to four straight Thursday night, beating VMI in the program's first ever home match, 21-12.
VMI would go up early in the game, taking a 4-3 lead after the first period. But the Sharks came back to tie it up and take the lead in the second, outscoring VMI 10-1, and never looking back.
LIU eventually took the win, 21-12.
Jessica Dean led LIU with seven goals and four assists, while
Diba Peiravani had five goals and two assists.
Elena Camarena had five goals and five assists, while
Jeannet Garcia had three goals.
