Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Long Island University women's tennis team fell to UNC Charlotte, 7-0 in the first of two spring break matches in the Sunshine State on Sunday afternoon.
 
The 49ers started the match of strong earning the doubles point. Valentina Dancenco/Sofiya Kuzina fell to Cowper/Safont, 4-6. Elinor Storkaas/Bianca Compuesto fell to Sawheny/Schech, 3-6, which gave the doubles point to Charlotte. Victoria Erechtchenko/Kate Jorjoliani concluded doubles but fell to Dean/Maquet, 3-6.
 
Charlotte did not let up in singles and was able to complete the sweep over the Sharks. Kuzina and Jorjoliani both forced a third set in their matches. After falling 4-6 in the first set, Kuzina came back to win the second set, 7-5 but ultimately fell in the third set, 3-6. Jorjoliani dropped her first set, 4-6, but won the second set, 6-2 to force the third set, but she fell in the third set 3-6 to Scott.
 
The Sharks will visit Lynn University for their second match in Florida on Wednesday, March 11. Match time against the Fighting Knights is set for 3:00 p.m.
