Box Score LATHAM, N.Y. – The Long Island University women's tennis team won its third straight dual match on Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep over Providence College at the Tri-City Fitness Center.

Veronika Koudelkova put the Sharks ahead by clinching the doubles point, defeating Dailey/Melenoez, 6-3. When the doubles point was clinched,

Phoebe Watton were up on Mulvey/Magliochette, 5-4.
The Sharks continued to play strong in singles. Erechtchenko started it off at No. 4 singles, defeating Dailey, 6-0, 6-1. Kuzina notched the second team singles point in the No. 2 spot, defeating Gurski, 6-3, 6-3. Jorjoliani clinched the match for the Sharks as she defeated Melenoez, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Dancenco battled back at No. 1 singles. After being down in the first, she won the second set to force the third set tie break where she knocked off Migliorini, 1-6, 6-2, 10-5. Storkaas kept it going for the Sharks as she sent away Mulvey, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Koudelkova finished the day, completing the sweep, as she rallied back to win the second set and third set tie break, 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 in No. 6 singles.
"I am very pleased with our performance so far this weekend," said head coach
Jan Griga. "We brought some great energy and sustained it throughout both matches securing two solid wins in preparation for tomorrow's match against NJIT."
The Sharks look to keep the momentum going tomorrow when they close out the weekend with a trip to take on NJIT tomorrow, Sunday February 16. Match time is slated for 5:00 p.m.
