BROOKVILLE, N.Y.- The Long Island University women's ice hockey team returns to the ice for a Black Friday Matinee against Sacred Heart University in a non-conference matchup on Friday afternoon. The Sharks are looking to carry the momentum from the sweep over Post two weeks ago into this match up with the Pioneers, and look to extend the first win streak in program history to three games.

NOTES ON THE SHARKS
The Sharks (4-8, 4-2 NEWHA) return to action after a dominant two-game sweep over New England Women's Hockey Alliance member Post University, which saw the Sharks outscore the Eagles 15-1 between the two games. Last week's NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week,
Kenzie Harmison started both games in net. She finished the weekend with 45 saves while only allowing one goal for a .978 save percentage between the two games. She earned her first career shutout in the second game against the Eagles, also marking the first shutout in program history.
Paula Bergström earned NEWHA Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a goal and chipping in two assists during Saturday's 10-0 win.
Alva Johnsson contributed to the 10 goals as she scored three for her first career hat trick and the first hat trick in program history.
Abby Latorella scored twice in the first game against Post, and finished with two assists on Saturday.
Megan Bouveur scored a goal in both games, extending her goal streak to three games.
Renee Hoffmann scored her first career goal in Friday's game against Post.
Carrigan Umpherville scored twice and added two assists on Saturday. Umpherville currently leads the team with five goals this season.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Sacred Heart University Pioneers (4-8, 4-2 NEWHA) return to the ice after splitting a two-game series with Franklin Pierce. The Pioneers bounced back from a 5-2 loss in the first game to win the second game against the Ravens, 4-2. Jayne Lewis scored three goals against the Ravens for her second career hat trick. She currently leads the team with six goals. Olivia Bryant and Anna Klein each added an assist against Franklin Pierce. Frankie Sanchez made 30 saves after facing 32 shots. Kelly Solak scored a goal and added an assist in the first game against the Ravens. Cassandra Nevers tallied her first career goal during the first game for the Pioneers' second goal of the day. In net, Sanchez made 29 saves in the first game against Franklin Pierce.
