Storrs, Conn. – LIU women's soccer will head to UConn for a Sunday matinee matchup with the Huskies, with kickoff set for 1pm.
 
After earning NEC Women's Soccer All-Rookie Team honors in 2025, Flavie Boulanger has only continued to flourish, serving as a key cog in the Sharks' offense so far in 2026. The sophomore has proven to be the aggressor this season, currently leading LIU with seven shots on goal. Boulanger scored her first goal of the campaign in her team's most recent game against Saint Peter's on Aug. 26.
 
Elsewhere for the Sharks this season, Isabel Kyprislidis scored her first collegiate goal in the team's home opener against Manhattan on Aug. 16. Alexandra DaEira-Loccisano has tallied 14 saves in goal.
 
The game against UConn will be a bit of a homecoming for Sharks head coach Jim O'Brien, who was inducted into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame in March 2025. Coach O'Brien began his head coaching career at Southern Connecticut State where he led the Owls to a 105-56-8 overall record (.645 win pct.), winning the NE-10 regular season crown and reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II tournament.
 
After nine seasons at SCSU, O'Brien moved to Fairfield University (2005-2017), where in 13 seasons he became the all-time winningest women's soccer coach in school history (119-99-41, .539 win pct.). He led the Stags to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament titles and NCAA appearances in 2005 and 2008 and was named northeast region coach of the year in 2008 and conference coach of the year in 2012.
