Erie, Pa. – LIU received some late game magic to put the finishing touches on a 2-1 win over Mercyhurst on Sunday afternoon.
The Sharks and Lakers were tied 0-0 at the half, but LIU proceeded to put real pressure on the Mercyhurst defense in the game's final 45 minutes.
Though they found themselves down 1-0, the Sharks went on the attack with 13 of their season-high 17 shots taken in half number two – this included seven total shots on goal – just one off of their season-high 8 against NJIT back on Sept. 10. Senior
Kaleigh West scored her first goal of the campaign at the 86:24 mark to tie things up, but LIU wasn't done there.

Isabel Kyprislidis scored her second goal of the season – this one coming up especially in the clutch – at the 89
th minute to give LIU a lead they'd hold onto as time expired.
The Sharks will look to add another one to the win column on Thursday, Sept. 24, when they host Delaware State at 3 p.m.
