BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Long Island University women's basketball team released its full 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday, featuring 13 home matchups inside the Brooklyn Athletic Center in Brooklyn. LIU takes on Manhattan University in its home opener on Nov. 19.

The Sharks tip off their 2026-27 campaign with a five-game road trip, traveling to take on Rutgers University (Nov. 2), Texas State University (Nov. 4), the University of Pittsburgh (Nov. 7), Southern Methodist University (Nov. 11), and The George Washington University (Nov. 14).  

LIU returns to Brooklyn for its home opener against Manhattan on Nov. 19, followed by another home contest against Saint Peter's University on Nov. 21, before traveling to face off against Rider University (Dec. 2) and American University (Dec. 6). The Sharks then close out their non-conference slate with a trio of home matchups, hosting Coppin State University (Dec. 9), Lehigh University (Dec. 19), and Berkeley College (N.J.) (Dec. 21). 

Moving into the new year, LIU opens its 16-game NEC schedule with a home matchup against the University of New Haven (Jan. 2) before traveling to take on FDU (Jan. 9). Upon returning home for a game against Chicago State University on Jan. 14, LIU embarks on a three-game road trip against Stonehill College (Jan. 16), Mercyhurst University (Jan. 21), and Le Moyne College (Jan. 23). 

To close out January, LIU begins a four-game home stand with matchups against Central Connecticut State University (Jan. 28), Wagner College (Jan. 30), Mercyhurst (Feb. 4), and Le Moyne (Feb. 6). Following a pair of road games against Chicago State (Feb. 10) and Wagner (Feb. 13), LIU will host Stonehill (Feb. 18) and FDU (Feb. 20). The Sharks close out the regular season with road games against CCSU (Feb. 27) and New Haven (March 4). 

The LIU women's basketball team enters the upcoming season coming off a successful 21-11 campaign in the 2025-26 season, in which the Sharks reached the NEC Tournament title game with a pair of First-Team All-NEC selections, including returning senior guard Janessa Williams. LIU announced the hire of Baronton Terry as the 14th head coach in program history on April 9.
