EDISON, N.J. — Redshirt freshman Julia Allen of the Long Island University women's water polo team was named the Kap 7 MAAC Water Polo Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. 

Allen, a native of Lake Worth Beach, Florida, totaled nine goals in LIU's trip the Harvard Invite last weekend, adding four assists, five steals, and 16 drawn exclusions on the weekend. 

The redshirt freshman utility scored three goals in LIU's games against Princeton University and Princeton University, and tallied two goals in LIU's 10-7 win over the University of California, Merced. 

This is Allen's second MAAC Rookie of the Week honor, having previously been named Rookie of the Week on Feb. 18. 

LIU returns to action on Friday, March 6, at 6:15 p.m. when they take on CSU Monterey Bay at the Convergence Tournament in Claremont, California.
