CARLSBAD, Calif. – Arjun Singh Bhatia of the Long Island University men's golf team was named an NCAA Division I PING All-Region selection, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Saturday. Singh Bhatia is one 25 players selected to the all-region team in the northeast region and is one of 150 golfers to receive the honor across six regions nationwide.

Singh Bhatia, a sophomore, was named Northeast Conference Golf of the Year after compiling an NEC-best 71.4 stroke average across 30 rounds this season.

The Chandigarh, India native garnered three top-three finishes on the season, highlighted by a second place showing at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic in October, where he carded a 10-under 134. Hitting his stride in April, Singh Bhatia posted third-place finishes at both the Rutherford Intercollegiate and the LIU-hosted Shark Invitational.

Leading the NEC with six sub-70 rounds and 10 rounds under par this season, Singh Bhatia was awarded one NEC Golfer of the Month and a pair of NEC Golfer of the Week honors, marking the sixth-most in a single season in conference history.

"Arjun used this year to really settle down," said Director of Golf Ben Belfield. "In the fall he was his normal explosive self, however he really has made a leap this spring. He shot just three rounds over 73 and has showed a new level of consistency and maturity. We are proud of his accomplishments and look forward to seeing what he can achieve in his final two years."
