BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Erin Harkins' seven-point performance in LIU's 19-9 win over Mercyhurst earned her NEC Player of the Week honors.
Harkins scored three first-half goals to help boost LIU to a commanding 13-3 lead.
The Floral Park, N.Y., native added her fourth goal of the game 7:52 into the third quarter, extending the Sharks' advantage to 16-5.
Harkins finished the game with four goals and three assists as LIU cruised past Mercyhurst 19-9, improving to 4-1 in NEC play.
Ava Taylor and
Julia Trainor were named NEC Prime Performers for their outstanding contributions during the Sharks' win.
Taylor scored a game-high five goals and caused a turnover. Trainor registered two goals and two assists, scooped up four ground balls, and won eight draw controls against the Lakers.
LIU, which has four regular season games remaining, returns to Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. matchup against CCSU, followed by a Saturday afternoon matchup against Stonehill.
