BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU men's lacrosse faceoff specialist Shaun Hill has been named the NEC Player of the Week after leading the Sharks to their sixth straight win.

Hill's second-quarter goal, which gave LIU a 6-3 lead during the Sharks' 15-12 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday, was just the beginning of the Oakdale, N.Y., native's career day.

The junior won a career-high 20 faceoffs, finishing with an outstanding 20-for-24 performance on the draw.

Hill also scooped up a career-best 15 ground balls as LIU improved to 6-1 on the season, setting a new program record for consecutive wins since joining Division I in 2020.

The Sharks return to Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium this Saturday at 2 p.m. for their first-ever meeting against Detroit Mercy.
