Ava Taylor was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week after her outstanding performance against Vermont.
The Medford, N.J., native scored a goal, scooped up five ground balls, and caused two turnovers in the Sharks' Sunday matinee against the Catamounts.
Taylor, who has appeared in 57 games during her four-year LIU career, has five goals, two assists, 17 ground balls, and six caused turnovers in seven games this season.
LIU next plays at FDU on Saturday at noon.
