Sharks Host James Madison in Home Opener on Saturday

LIU enters Saturday's game coming off two road wins

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Long Island University men's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 NEC) will take the floor at the Steinberg Wellness Center for the first time this season, hosting James Madison University (2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. 

Saturday's matchup between the Sharks and Dukes will be available digitally on NEC Front Row, with Phil Constantino (play-by-play) and Mike Murabito (analyst) on the call.

-SERIES HISTORY: Saturday's game will be the fifth all-time meeting between JMU and the Sharks, and the first meeting between the two in Brooklyn. JMU holds a 4-0 mark in the all-time record, having won the previous matchup 115-79 in Harrisonburg, Virginia during the 2022-23 season. 

-LAST TIME OUT: The overcame a narrow halftime deficit on the road against the United States Air Force Academy on Tuesday, defeating the Falcons 76-72 in Colorado. Redshirt senior Malachi Davis and graduate student Jamal Fuller led the Sharks with 14 points each in the win, while redshirt sophomore Tre'shawn Sheppard recorded his first career double-double with 12 points scored and 13 rebounds. 

-PREVIEWING THE DUKES: James Madison stands at 2-2 after falling 82-72 on the road against Longwood University on Wednesday. The Dukes fell 85-71 to the University of Akron on Nov. 3 before defeating Washington and Lee University 70-56 on Nov. 5 and Coppin State University 84-70 on Nov. 9.
