BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Long Island University men's basketball team announced its 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday, featuring 14 matchups at home inside the Brooklyn Athletic Center. The Sharks will take on the University of St. Thomas in their home opener on Nov. 16.

LIU opens the 2026-27 season on the road against Florida Atlantic University on Nov. 2, and continues its road stretch with games at Seton Hall University (Nov. 5), La Salle University (Nov. 7), Towson University (Nov. 9), and Fordham University (Nov. 13).
The Sharks begin a four-game homestand on Nov. 16 against St. Thomas, followed by home games against UNC Wilmington (Nov. 18), Fairfield University (Nov. 20), and Cornell University (Dec. 2). Following back-to-back away contests at The George Washington University (Dec. 5) and the University of Notre Dame (Dec. 8), LIU returns home to host Princeton University on Dec. 12.
LIU closes its non-conference schedule with road games against the University of Louisville (Dec. 16), San Diego State University (Dec. 22), and the University of Florida (Dec. 29).
Breaking into the new year, LIU will tip-off its 16-game NEC slate with a home matchup against Le Moyne College on Jan. 2, followed by a road game against the University of New Haven on Jan. 4. Following a home game against FDU on Jan. 10 and a road tilt against Chicago State University on Jan. 13, LIU begins a three-game home stretch against Stonehill College (Jan. 16), Mercyhurst University (Jan. 21), and New Haven (Jan. 23).
The Sharks then close out January with road games against Central Connecticut State University (Jan. 28) and Wagner College (Jan. 30).
LIU opens February with road matchups against Mercyhurst (Feb. 4) and Le Moyne (Feb. 6) before returning home for a pair of home games against Chicago State (Feb. 11) and Wagner (Feb. 13). After road games against Stonehill (Feb. 18) and FDU (Feb. 20), the Sharks close out the regular season at home against FDU on Feb. 27.
LIU enters the 2026-27 season as the defending NEC regular season and tournament champion, posting a 24-11 overall record and reaching the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history. Head Coach Rod Strickland received NEC Coach of the Year honors in the 2025-26 season, while the Sharks had three student-athletes recognized on All-NEC teams.
