BROOKLYN, N.Y. — For the second straight week and the third time this season,
Malachi Davis has been awarded the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor.
Davis averaged 23 points and shot 40% from long range to go with 6 assists and 2.5 steals, while leading LIU to two victories this past week.
He scored 23 points on 9 of 18 from the field in his team's 64-51 win over Saint Francis on Jan. 18, and tallied 23 points and 9 assists in the 72-63 overtime win against Mercyhurst on Jan. 20. The NEC's second-leading scorer has now scored 23 or more in four of the Sharks' first six conference play games.
As Davis keeps thriving, LIU continues to soar. The Sharks' 6-0 start is its best since the 2011-12 season, and the squad stands tall as the only remaining undefeated team in the NEC.
Davis and LIU will hit the hardwood once again on Friday, Jan, 24 when they visit Saint Francis at 7 p.m.
