VILLANOVA, Pa. — The LIU women's water polo team took on Wagner in a standalone conference matchup on Sunday morning.
The Seahawks jumped out to an early four goal lead, but the Sharks fought back to tie it up at six in the second period. Late in the second, Wagner would strike twice to give itself momentum going into the half. The momentum would stay in the Seahawks' favor unfortunately as they took a four goal lead in the third that would be too much for LIU to come back from as it fell 14-10.
Ale Aranguren led the team with four goals, followed by
Paola Dominguez-Castro with two.
The Sharks return to the pool on Saturday to wrap up their season against Villanova and La Salle in Philadelphia.
