Six Men's Lacrosse Student-Athletes Earn All-Conference Honors

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's lacrosse team has had its best season at the Division I level this year, earning a 10-3 record and the number two seed in the MAAC conference tournament. A number of student-athletes have made the 2024 season a success, but six of them stood above the rest, earning all-conference honors. 

Karl LaCalandra and Tommy Ramsey were named first-team all-MAAC. LaCalandra led LIU in caused turnovers with 27 and was third on the team with 32 ground balls. Ramsey recorded 26 ground balls, caused seven turnovers, and tallied six points (three goals, three assists.)

Sean Boll, Nick Kasica and Tom von Bargen were all named second-team all-MAAC. Boll led the team in points (43) and was second on the team in goals (23) and assists while also recorded 16 ground balls and causing four turnovers. Kasica tallied 21 ground balls, caused six turnovers and scored one goal in LIU's 13-12 win over Manhattan. von Bargen was LIU's leading goalscorer, putting the ball in the back of the net 24 times while also recording 11 assists, nine ground balls and causing 11 turnovers. 

Aidan Zuhoski was a force in his first year at LIU and was named to the MAAC All-Rookie team. The Riverhead native was third on the team with 21 goals while also recorded 12 ground balls, eight assists and causing 12 turnovers. Zuhoski scored a season-high seven goals in the team's 17-8 win over VMI.

The Sharks will take on three seed Manhattan on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the MAAC semifinals.
