STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Jen Gaffney, Olivia Fantigrossi, and Lluna Katz scored goals for the LIU women's lacrosse team in the Sharks' 8-5 loss to Wagner.

Katz scored the first goal of the game to give the Sharks an early 1-0 lead.

Gaffney followed up with a quick tally of her own to extend the Sharks' lead to 2-0.

Fantigrossi also found the back on the net as LIU took a 5-4 lead into the half.

Wagner scored the next four goals of the game, all in the second half. 

LIU hosts Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
