STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 19-year-old school record fell at the Fast Track Last Chance Invite at Ocean Breeze on Friday.
Tess Duignan, fresh off an NEC championship in the 800-meter run last weekend, set a school record in the 1000m at 2:52.92. She bested Christina Imperiale's previous program record of 2:55.7, which was achieved in 2004.
Duignan was paced for the first 800 meters by teammate
Rali Mihaylova.
Also on Friday, on the men's side,
Perry Balsamo set a personal record in the 3000m run (9:00.29) and
Darin Cofield achieved a PR in the 800m run (1:55.72).
Duignan already had qualified for the March 3-5 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships in Boston.
