PRINCETON, N.J. — The No. 20 LIU women's water polo team kicked off its season against No.12 UCSB at the Princeton Invitational.
The Sharks boasted a 1-0 record entering Friday, but lost, 13-9, and moved to 1-1 on the year.
Leading 6-5 entering the third, the defense allowed eight goals while only adding three.
Paola Dominguez-Castro led LIU with four goals, three steals and two assists.
Elena Camarena chipped in two goals and four steals.
In goal,
Julia Zebak finished with four blocks and a steal.
LIU returns to action on Saturday vs. Princeton at 5 p.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
