Jordan Levine Selected to Lead Men's Lacrosse Program

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Jordan Levine took the Mercy College men's lacrosse team to the Division II national championship game four weeks ago.

Now, Levine takes his impressive résumé to Long Island University as the men's lacrosse program's new head coach.

Levine, a native of Bethpage on Long Island, met with LIU student-athletes on Sunday night.

He produced a 110-39 overall record in 10 seasons with Mercy.

Levine has earned three straight East Coast Conference Coach of the Year awards, and five overall.

The Mavericks won the last three ECC titles.

Levine coached 66 all-conference selections, 23 USILA All-Americans, two USILA Academic All-Americans and one CoSIDA Academic All-American during his decade leading the Mavericks.

"LIU is an unbelievable institution with an incredible history of success in lacrosse," Levine said. "I look forward to building meaningful relationships with the players, staff and alumni."

LIU enters the MAAC for men's lacrosse in 2023.

The Sharks went 7-8 overall and 4-3 in the NEC this past season, falling 11-10 in the conference semifinals to 19th-ranked St. Joseph's.

Levine earned a bachelor of arts degree in history with a minor in English from UAlbany in 2008 and a master of science degree in sports business management from Manhattanville College in 2012.

He was a three-time first-team All-America East selection and two-time USILA All-American as an undergraduate at UAlbany. He twice helped lead the Great Danes to the NCAA Tournament, with the latter trip including a first-round win against Loyola (Md.), in 2007.

A first-round pick, Levine played five seasons in Major League Lacrosse. He was a member of the 2009 champion Toronto Nationals and was selected to the league's all-star game in 2009 and 2011. He also played three seasons with the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League.

Levine succeeds Eric Wolf, who accepted a position with NJIT.

"Jordan brings a wealth of experience as a college and pro player, and as a successful head coach," athletic director Dr. William E. Martinov Jr. said. "He has won multiple conference championships and coach of the year honors, and has taken a team to the national championship game this past season. Coach Levine will lead our program to success both on the field and in the classroom."
