Binkley Earns All-Rookie Honors as Bowling Competes at Day One of NEC Championships

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The LIU bowling team took part in the 2022 Northeast Conference championship tournament Thursday at Hamilton Lanes. The No. 5 seeded Sharks triumphed in the play-in match, upsetting No. 4 seed FDU, 2-1 in the mega-match to advance to the first round of tournament action. There, they took on top-seeded Sacred Heart, falling to the Pioneers, 2-0.

With the loss, LIU moves to the elimination bracket, and will bowl in a must-win match at 9 a.m. Friday.

  • Between matches, the conference presented All-NEC honors. LIU rookie Sydney Binkley earned All-Rookie team honors. She averaged 18.86 pins per frame to earn her spot on the All-Rookie Team.
