BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU women's fencing team hosted three schools from around the New York Metropolitan area on Sunday in the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Sharks scored points against all three teams, but went 0-3 on the day against NYU, St. John's University, and Columbia University.

SHARK BITES
- Against NYU in sabre, sophomore Chejsa-Kaili Seck went 3-0, topping each of her opponents in the weapon. She had four wins in sabre for the day, taking one from St. John's.
- Senior Jasmine Hagans also claimed a win against an opponent from St. John's in sabre.
- Sophomore Anna Szántay had six wins in foil, going 3-0 against her opponents from NYU and taking two from her Columbia opponent and one from St. John's.
- In foil, freshman Daniela Perez Leal went 3-0 against her St. John's opponents and took another win for the day against an opponent from Columbia.
- Kristina Sarkisian, a sophomore, took four wins in foil. She went 2-1 against her opponents from St. John's, and took one win a piece from NYU and Columbia.
- In epee, sophomore Laura Fekete won four of her bouts. She claimed two victories against her NYU opponents, and one win each from her opponents from St. John's and Columbia. Fekete was the team's sole win in the weapon against Columbia.
- Sophomore Nicole Nicou had two wins on the day in epee, taking one each from NYU and St. John's.
- Freshman Sarah Ellis also claimed a victory over an opponent from St. John's in epee.
Up next, the Sharks head to the Wagner College Invitational on Staten Island to take on FDU, Yeshiva University and Wagner College on February 27.
