PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The LIU gymnastics team made history multiple times on the road Sunday at the Brown Quad Meet. The Sharks won the meet, finishing in first place with a team score of 194.100. It's the first time LIU has won a quad meet, and the first time that LIU has broken 194.000 on the road. Additionally, the Sharks won every event, the first time LIU has done so in school history.
SHARK BITES
- The first rotation was bars, with Mara Titarsolej anchoring the group with a 9.900, winning the event.
- On beam, freshman Ilka Juk set a new program record with a 9.925. Cael Bixler also notched a 9.825 that resulted in a second-place finish in the event, and Taylor Doten finished tied for third. LIU compiled a team score of 47.925.
- Jah'Liyah Bedminster, Amanda Loo, and Alana Rickets rounded out the top-three on vault, with Bedminster recording a 9.850 which tied her season-high.
- Bedminster won her second event of the evening on the floor exercise with a 9.850. Loo finished second overall with a 9.800.
- Up next, the Sharks will travel to the University of New Hampshire for the UNH Tri Meet on Friday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m.
