Women’s Track & Field Earn Season Best Results at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The LIU women's track & field team traveled up to Boston to compete Friday and Saturday in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. One week ahead of the NEC Championships, several athletes earned season best times and set personal bests.
 
SHARK BITES
  • For the Sharks, freshman Anja Olsson finished 8th in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.42 meters. This distance is a season best for Olsson.
  • Senior Margaret McKeever lowered her personal best in the 800m from 2:23:56 to 2:21:56.
  • Sophomores Laurie Hauet and Hachlaine Petit, junior Camille Watson, and grad student Tara Hernandez all earned season best times in the 200-meter event.
  • Petit, along with sophomores London Claxton and Lucia Matesanz earned season bests and a personal best in the 400m.
  • Up next, the Sharks are heading to Staten Island to compete in the Northeast Conference Championships being held on February 20 and 21st.
