BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU football standout
Eric O'Neill has added another honor after his impressive redshirt freshman season.
O'Neill was been selected to the Stats Perform FCS All-America Freshman Team on Tuesday.
O'Neill, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Staten Island, previously had been honored with selection to the HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-American Team. He also had been recognized as a Jerry Rice Award finalist, NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year and first-team All-NEC.
O'Neill produced an NEC-leading 10 sacks during the 2022 season. That included 3½ sacks as well as one forced fumble in a season-ending victory at Sacred Heart on Nov. 19 as the Sharks ran their winning streak to four games.
