GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — LIU women's bowling had a signature weekend at the Dezy Strong Classic, hosted by Adelphi.
The Sharks took down No. 2 Vanderbilt, 950-942, on Sunday in a traditional match.
"The ladies had a slower start on Friday, but they took that as motivation for Saturday and were able to come out stronger," head coach
Melissa Kammerer said. "They are really showing me that they fight to the very end and never give up."
Individually,
Brittany Lucci was the seventh-ranked bowler with an average of 205.20.
Other notable team results included wins against Saint Anselm, Tulane, Bryant, Stephen F. Austin and Molloy.
LIU returns to action on Nov. 5 at the Wagner Seahawk Invitational.
