Gymnastics Competes at Pitt Tri-Meet

PITTSBURGH, PA. – The LIU women's gymnastics team traveled to the Pitt Tri-Meet for its second meet of the season against the University of Pittsburgh and the University Maryland. The Sharks took part in all four events, finishing third, with a final score of 192.650.
 
SHARK BITES 
  • LIU began the day on bars, with sophomore's Mara Titarsolej and Ella Castellanos each scoring a team-high 9.750. 
  • After the first rotation, the Sharks were second to Pitt with a score of 47.575.
  • For the second rotation, LIU moved to the beam. Castellanos and sophomore Taylor Doten led the way with scores of 9.800. 
  • Heading into the third set, LIU remained second to Pitt with a score of 96.350.
  • The Sharks moved to the floor for the third rotation. Amanda Loo scored a 9.825 in a near-perfect showing on the floor, tying for second overall in the event.
  • The fourth and final rotation ended with vault, and Alana Ricketts tied for third overall with a 9.800 score. 
  • Up next, the Sharks return home to host Yale University on January 23 at 2:00 p.m.
