NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The LIU bowling team went 3-0 on the first day of Northeast Conference meet two, sweeping Saint Francis U. to finish the day tied for first. Overall, the Sharks improved to 7-5 in the NEC, and now stand in fourth overall.
In the first match of the day, the Sharks beat the Red Flash in a traditional match, 975-932. Freshman
Sarah Orensky led LIU with a 205, while sophomore
Brittany Lucci bowled a 204, and senior
Emily Cavanaugh had a 200.
The second match against SFU was a 931-908 five game baker win for LIU (203-216, 190-180, 198-165, 158-174, 182-173).
And the Sharks wrapped up the day beating Saint Francis in a best of seven baker matchup, 4 games to 2 (219-174, 184-182, 203-244, 222-205, 223-231, 216-187).
With the 3-0 record, the Sharks lead the field at the NEC meet. Action continues Saturday, February 27 at 8 a.m.
