MILLSBORO, Del. – The LIU bowling team finished up the UMES Hawk Classic on the road Sunday, finishing the weekend with a 5-7 record, in eighth out of 15 teams.
 
LIU went 1-3 in Saturday's action. The Sharks opened the day with a loss to #7 Youngstown State, 991-950. LIU shot a 962 against the bye, then lost to host and #20 ranked UMES, 880-822. LIU bounced back with a 913-869 win over St. Francis Brooklyn, then finished the day with a loss to #11 Duquesne, 967-895.
 
 
In bracket play Sunday, the Sharks opened with a 4-0 loss to Mount St. Mary's, 162-188, 191-211, 150-178, 202-244. But LIU bounced back with two wins over nationally ranked foes. The Sharks beat #11 Duquesne, 4-3 (199-150, 230-186, 207-246, 159-182, 208-201, 170-201, 224-199), and finished the day with a 4-3 win over #25 Adelphi, 172-170, 142-171, 188-246, 194-179, 204-174, 188-193, 227-166.
