SHARKS WIN! Bowling Goes 4-1 at Adelphi Invite Day One

COMRAN, N.Y. – The LIU women's bowling team went 4-1 on Friday at the Adelphi University "Dezy Strong" Classic, beating two nationally ranked teams in baker matches. They sit in third place in the field heading into Saturday's action.
 
The Sharks opened the weekend with a win over #22 Prairie View A& M, 885-828 in the first of five five-game baker matches. The Sharks won, 207-158, 149-164, 228-159, 147-199, 154-148.
 
LIU followed that up with a win over Alabama Birmingham, 897-864 (174-173, 175-171, 201-210, 178-153, 169-158). The Sharks then beat another ranked team, upsetting #16 Tulane, 978-910 (181-222, 202-171, 183-202, 185-160, 227-155).

The only loss of the day was a close one, that came at the hands of the #7 team in the nation, Youngstown State, 959-903. (159-212, 174-191, 181-180, 187-157, 202-219).
 
LIU capped the day with a dominant win over Molloy, 982-870 (166-201, 179-184, 215-169, 190-137, 232-179).
 
Up next, the Sharks continue play at the Dezy Strong Classic Saturday. Opponents will include Felician, Vanderbilt, Stephen F. Austin , FDU, and Mount  St Mary's.
