FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The LIU bowling team took to the lanes for the first time since March of 2020 Saturday, taking on Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart in a single game tournament. The two teams bowled against each other three times, with LIU taking two of the three matches.
In the first match of the day, a total pinfall for five baker set, LIU won handily, 929-859 (232-181, 164-168, 197-159, 163-200, 173-151).
The second match was traditional play, which the Sharks won, 948-915, led by a 224 from senior
Kellie Frain.
In the third match of the day, another baker set, LIU bowled a strong final match, but couldn't close the gap, falling by a final score of 989-960 (180-183, 149-190, 204-199, 174-234, 253-183).
Up next, the Sharks will head to the Northeast Invitational, hosted by Mount St. Mary's at 30 Strikes in Stratford, N.J., February 5-7.
