SINKING SPRING, Pa. – The Long Island University bowling team played the first day of the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill College on Friday afternoon. The Sharks went 3-2 on the day.
LIU saw #17 Fairleigh Dickinson in the first baker match, narrowly falling to the Knights 970-935. The Sharks then strung together two straight victories against Mount Aloysius College and New Jersey City University, defeating the Mounties 1044-857 and besting the Gothic Knights 898-647.
The Blue and Gold clashed with #20 Adelphi in the fourth match. The Panthers took the game 1024-912. LIU battled Molloy in the final match of the afternoon and won by six pins for a final score of 960-954.
Up next, the Sharks are back in action tomorrow for the second day of the Baker Classic at Berks Lanes.
