#25 Bowling Plays Second Day of Hawk Flight Invite

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Long Island University bowling team played the second day of the Hawk Flight Invite hosted by Monmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks went 2-3 through five traditional matches.
 
With yesterday's results, LIU now holds a 3-7 tournament record, good enough for seventh place out of 12 teams.
 
The day began with a 974-778 win over Mercyhurst. Tyler Karpinecz and Kellie Frain led the charge with 226 and 221 performances, respectively. The Sharks then went on to take down St. Francis Brooklyn by a score of 1003-975. Jennifer Roback bowled a 206.
 
#2 Sam Houston State proved to be too much, defeating LIU 1038-928. Emily Cavanaugh put up a 201. #24 Wilmington defeated LIU 1100-995. The final match of the day saw #22 Monmouth beat the Sharks 1047-1011. Francesca Rossi had the highest score of the day for the Sharks in the match, earning a 244.
 
Action resumes tomorrow with one traditional match then a two best-of-seven bakers. Events are scheduled to begin at 8:25 a.m.
