STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The Long Island University women's track & field team ended the weekend with a strong showing at the Villanova Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks recorded four event wins at Ocean Breeze.
LIU stood out in the field events with three event wins on Saturday. Senior
Taylor Parker earned her second shot put win of the weekend, leading the field with a throw of 14.33 meters.

Stephanie Esogenwune recorded a personal-best mark in the triple jump event. Esogenwune led the field with a mark of 12.25 meters. Senior
Angeli Andre placed first in the triple jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

Tara Hernandez and senior
Alexandria Okon crossed the finish line with a time of 3:50.27 to win the event.
Hernandez also placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles, timing in at 9.37. Freshman
Ainhoa Brea recorded a personal-best in the mile, clocking in at 5:11.35 to finish seventh in the event.
The Sharks are back in action on Friday, February 7 for the Albany Winter Classic at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
