MECHNICSBURG, Pa. – The Long Island University bowling team went 2-1 on the first day of Northeast Conference Meet #1, including an upset win over #11 Sacred Heart.
The Sharks started the day beating local rival St. Francis Brooklyn, 928-925 (178-165, 170-139, 186-174, 206-244, 188-203). In the second slot of the day, LIU had a bye.
The third match of the day saw #24 nationally-ranked LIU beat #11 Sacred Heart, 960-885 (203-144, 178-174, 184-224, 194-176, 201-167.)
And in the final Baker match of the day, the Sharks fell to #9 FDU, 794-857 (159-135, 242-196, 139-172, 116-169, 138-185).
