MECHNICSBURG, Pa. – The Long Island University bowling team continued on their hot streak Sunday afternoon, winning all three of their Baker matches to finish the weekend 5-1, and in first place in the league standings. The #24 ranked Sharks beat three nationally-ranked teams en route to their Sunday sweep.
LIU started the day with a decisive win over #21 Mount St. Mary's, beating the Mountaineers 960-867 (163-169, 194-205, 199-159, 190-172, 214-162).
Up next, was #16 Saint Francis U., whom the Sharks beat 990-902, with scores of 162-226, 208-171, 233-168, 183-179, 203-158.
And LIU capped the day with a close win over #20 Duquesne, 953-928 (201-179, 201-159, 196-162, 195-239, 160-189).
UP NEXT
Another two-week break stands between LIU and their next competition: the UMES Hawk Classic. The Sharks will head to Millsboro, Delaware to take part in the event, Nov. 22-24.
