Indianapolis, Ind. – Just one day after defeating Duke 3-2 on Saturday, LIU completed a sweep at the Butler Invitational, defeating host Butler 3-0 on Sunday.
Earning their second win to go a perfect 2-0 at the Invitational, LIU was propelled by the efforts of
Sara van Gisteren, whose 16 kills led her team in that category for the third game in a row.
Yasmeen Muhammad was next in line with 7 kills to go along with a team-high 7 blocks – a season-high mark for the senior.
Dilara Elmacioglu led LIU with 30 assists and
Reese Teves had 11 digs for her squad in the win.
Sunday marked the Sharks' third straight win, the first two of the current streak coming against Power 4 opponents in Virginia Tech (Sept. 13) and Duke (Sept. 19).
LIU will look to keep it going on Wednesday, Sept. 23, visiting Saint Peter's at 6 p.m.
