Jersey City, N.J. – The Sharks won their fourth in a row and second-consecutive 3-0 win with a victory over Saint Peter's Wednesday night.
A recipient of the NEC's last two Player of the Week awards,
Sara van Gisteren demonstrated her continued prowess by leading LIU with 20 kills. Such a tally not only ties the second-most kills she's had in a match, but also marks the third time in four matches she's had twenty kills or more. van Gisteren also led her squad with five blocks in the win.
Dilara Elmacioglu, who earned an NEC Prime Performer nod earlier this week, led the Sharks with 34 assists and added 9 digs, while
Reese Teves had a team-high 11 digs.
The Sharks will return to play Friday, Oct. 2, taking on Le Moyne in Brooklyn at 6 p.m. for the start of conference play.
