BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- Jake Sandler has been named Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach, Long Island University Director of Athletics Elliott Charles announced on Friday.
 
Sandler joins LIU following seven years as an assistant coach at Colgate University, where he worked with both the men's and women's tennis programs. During his tenure, Sandler helped lead Colgate to an overall record of 105-99, including four winning seasons with the men's program and six winning seasons with the women's program. The women finished 58-44 during his tenure, while the men advanced to the conference tournament semifinals. Sandler also coached multiple student athletes who earned All-Conference honors.
 
Prior to his coaching career, Sandler enjoyed a successful collegiate playing career at Washington College in Chestertown, Md., where he earned two All-Conference selections in the Centennial Conference. He played No. 1 singles throughout his career and served as the team captain during his senior season, while also rising as a 2-time team MVP.
 
A native of Lynbrook, N.Y., Sandler graduated from Washington College in 2019 with a degree in Communication and Media Studies.
