BROOKVILLE, N.Y.– The Long Island University women's gymnastics team (8-6, 1-2 EAGL) won first place at the Empire State Collegiate Championship Saturday night in Cortland, New York. This is the first time the Sharks have won the event, defeating SUNY Brockport, Cornell University, SUNY Cortland, Ithaca College, and Utica University. LIU set season-high team scores on the uneven bars (48.425), balance beam (48.800), and floor (49.250) events, earning the highest overall team score of 194.750 under head coach, Taylor Colwell.

Raphaëlle Perreault's first all-around title in her career with the Sharks while sophomore
Camille Lund Rasmussen's floor title is also the first in her career.
Brisa Carraro's uneven bars title is the first of the season for the junior.
