Bridgewater, N.J. – Brian Masai,
Phillip Baynes Jr., and
Sonjay Baylor-Reeves all earned NEC Track & Field weekly honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Masai was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week following a fourth place finish in the Men's 800 Meter Run at the Fastrack Invite, coming in with a time of 1:51.14. He previously won Men's Co-Track Athlete of the Week back on Jan. 20.
Baynes Jr. earned Men's Co-Field Athlete of the Week after securing a first place finish at the Fastrack Invite. He was at the top of the leaderboard in the Men's Triple Jump, boasting a 15.07m mark.
Earning her third NEC Women's Rookie of the Week honor of the campaign was Baylor-Reeves, following a first place finish of her own in the Women's Shot Put. Also competing at the Fastrack Invite, the freshman had a top mark of 13.73m.
LIU men's and women's Track & Field teams will next take part in the NEC Championships, competing on Feb. 15 and 16.
