Bridgewater, N.J. – Hasnae Goulamzi and
Sonjay Baylor-Reeves have earned top honors from the NEC following strong outings at the Gotham Cup and Wagner Invitational.
Goulamzi was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week after securing two first place finishes in competition. The junior started her week by earning first place in the Women's 3000 meter run at the Gotham Cup, coming in at a time of 9:43.46. She beat the school record, her own mark, previously set at the Fastrack Season Opener on Dec. 5. Goulamzi also went on to finish in first place in the Women's 5000 meter run at the Wagner Invitational, with a time of 17:00.96.
Baylor-Reeves followed suit with two first place finishes of her own. The freshman took home the top spot in the Women's Shot Put at both competitions, with a 14.04m mark at the Gotham Cup and a 13.73m mark at the Wagner Invitational. She also came in second in the Weight Throw at the Gotham Cup, boasting a 15.92m mark. As a result, Baylor-Reeves earned Field Athlete of the Week and Rookie of the Week awards from the conference.
