BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Long Island University men's basketball team introduced its seven-player recruiting class ahead of the 2025-26 season. The Sharks added incoming transfers Greg Gordon, Jomo Goings, Isaiah Miranda, Faheim Meran, Mason Brown, and Rupee Kolawole, and incoming freshman Max Ndlovu-Fraser to a roster that features six returning letterwinners.

"This year's recruiting class brings a new edge to our program," LIU Men's Basketball Head Coach Rod Strickland said. "Battle-tested, tough, and ready to make an immediate impact. Combine their hunger with the fire already burning in our returning players, you get a team that's built ready to electrify Brooklyn! We expect the entire community to pack the stands for every home game!

Gordon, a 6'5, 210-pound senior guard previously at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Iona University, is a former two-time NJCAA All-American at Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee. The Coral Springs, Florida native started in 24 games with Iona in the 2023-24 season, averaging 16 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories.

Miranda, a 7'1, 230-pound junior center, is a former four-star recruit from Providence, Rhode Island. Having spent time with high-major programs at North Carolina State University and Oklahoma State University, Miranda suited up for the University of Wisconsin Green Bay in the 2024-25 season, appearing in seven games.

Goings, a 6'5, 180-pound junior guard, was a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West selection with Slippery Rock University, including a first-team nod in 2024-25 when he averaged 17.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game last winter.

Meran, a 6'7, 205-pound junior guard, averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game at Miami Dade College a season ago, garnering a First-Team All-Citrus Conference honor. A do-it-all guard from Miramar, Florida, Meran is a former high school state champion with previous experience at the Division I level, having played for Chicago State University in the 2022-23 season.

Brown, a 6'6, 190-pound junior combo forward, joins the Sharks after two seasons at Indian River State College in Florida, where he averaged 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season. An elite defender who averaged 2.9 steals per game last season, Brown frequently guarded shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards alike while at IRSC.

Kolawole, a 7'2, 230-pound junior center, is coming off a 2024-25 season with Northwest Florida State College in which he appeared in 25 games with the Raiders, averaging 4 points, 3 rebounds and nearly one block per game in limited minutes. A Paris native with a background in European basketball, Kolawole will bring a huge defensive upside to the Sharks this winter.

Ndlovu-Fraser, a 6'5, 180-pound guard, comes to LIU out of Western Canada Prep Academy in Toronto. A standout for GOOD Hoops on the AAU circuit, Ndlovu-Fraser developed a reputation as a physical, high-IQ combo guard with the ability to make an impact on both ends of the court. Ndlovu-Fraser becomes the fourth Canadian on the roster.

The Sharks enter the upcoming season off a 2024-2025 campaign in which they posted a 17-16 overall record and placed second in the Northeast Conference standings with a 12-4 mark. LIU's roster features three returning starters, including First-Team All-NEC selection Malachi Davis, Second-Team All-NEC selection Jamal Fuller and NEC All-Rookie Team selection Shadrak Lasu.
