BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Erin Harkins was the overtime hero for LIU in the Sharks' 11-10 comeback win over Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon.
Harkins scored the game-winning goal off a free position shot 1:09 into overtime to lift LIU to victory on Senior Day.
Julia Trainor, who finished with five points (2 goals, 3 assists), scored her second goal of the game with 7:07 left in regulation to cut the deficit to 8-7.
Ava Taylor tied the game at eight with 5:30 remaining in the fourth quarter, before
Pierson Schuchart netted her third goal of the day to give LIU a 10-9 lead with just over two minutes to play.
Saint Francis answered with the equalizer with 15 seconds left in regulation, forcing overtime.
Erin Harkins capped her three-point afternoon (2 goals, 1 assist) with the decisive goal to improve LIU to 7-1 in NEC play and 9-6 overall.
Lindsey Lucia also tallied five points (3 goals, 2 assists), while goalkeeper
Mylie Norton earned her ninth win of the season with 12 saves. Trainor scooped up a team-high three ground balls and
Pierson Schuchart scored three goals in the win.
