SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Lindsey Lucia's five-point performance lifted the LIU women's lacrosse team to a 9-5 win over Le Moyne in Saturday's matchup against the Dolphins.
Lucia scored her first goal of the game in the first quarter to give LIU a 2-0 lead.
Julia Trainor added a pair of opening-quarter goals to extend the Sharks' advantage to 4-0.
Selia Lyons found the back of the net with 6:16 remaining in the second quarter, sending LIU into halftime with a 5-1 lead.
The Sharks then surged to an 8-1 advantage in the third quarter behind two goals from Catherine Batteryberry and another tally from Lucia.
Goaltender
Mylie Norton, who recorded her 200th career save against Wagner on Wednesday, earned her fifth win of the season with a 12-save performance.
Ava Taylor also scored for the Sharks, while Trainor led the team with five draw controls and four ground balls.
LIU returns to action next Saturday at Mercyhurst at 11 a.m. before hosting CCSU on April 9 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
